Keep your butter fresh and soft for everyday use with this handmade, wheel thrown stoneware butter urn. Simply fill the bottom of the urn with approximately 1" of fresh water and pack the top portion with the butter of your choice. Keep the top on/in the urn on your countertop out of direct sunlight for use. The water should be freshened every 3-4 days to be sure it remains above the butter level.
Each top holds one stick of softened buttered while the water creates a seal to keep it fresh without refrigeration.
The top is an attractive and useful serving piece for entertaining at your table.
